We told ya. In 2022, we predicted that TikTok would be the most important place to market on social media – and we were totally right. For 2023, we’re going to make an even bigger prediction – TikTok will be the #1 social media platform, period.
Tiktok is well-known for its innovation in its video format. So much so that it inspired YouTube’s Shorts and Facebook’s Reels. Even further than that, TikTok has released other features, such as Stories, Search Ads, longer videos, and TikTok Now that will help it continue to be one of the most used social media apps in the game. With its users spending an average of an hour and a half per day, there’s no denying that you need to be utilizing this platform.
BeReal or BeLost
BeReal has taken the world by storm in 2022 with being the top social networking app in the App Store in October. If you aren’t aware of what BeReal is, it’s a photo-sharing app that encourages its users to post an unfiltered/unedited picture per day to a group of friends. This app has been installed roughly 29.5 million times!
Although BeReal doesn’t have any ads or other business features … yet – it hasn’t really been mainstream for very long, so this function is foreseeable.
With Gen Z longing for more authentic and unedited content, BeReal is delivering exactly what they want. Now is the time to get familiar with the app!
Instagram Reels in the New Year
There’s no doubt that Instagram continues to dominate the Internet.
In 2023, it’s going to be super important that marketers utilize their Reels feature. Instagram is pushing videos hard, and it’s the most preferred app amongst 16- to 24-year-olds. If you want to ensure you’re reaching the younger audience, this is something you’ll want to get familiar with.
LinkedIn – Much More than Jobs
LinkedIn is becoming more and more like a regular personal social media site.So much so, that CEOs are actually upset about it. We’re wondering if LinkedIn’s algorithm has changed, or if the pandemic dissolved the personal vs. professional boundaries. Is LinkedIn a new opportunity to grab attention?
Redefining UGC in Gen Z
If you ever posted a photo of yourself in your new kicks from Nike and commented how happy you were with your purchase, you exposed yourself to user-generated content (UGC). UGC is the new and improved way that businesses can deepen their relationship with their customers. Being an authentic version of brand loyalty, there’s no doubt that this trend will continue to thrive in 2023.
